Krin Haglund

Krin Haglund, artistic director of The Radiant, is a Montreal-based multidisciplinary circus performer and director known as a “deft comedienne” and the first woman to perform the Cyr wheel. Krin toured for more than 10 years with many of today’s hottest circuses including Cirque Éloize (original cast “Rain”), 7 Fingers (“La Vie,“ “Loft“), Cirque du Soleil, and La Clique. Her one-woman show, “The Rendez-Vous,” debuted at CCCF 2014 and to glowing reviews at Montréal Complètement Cirque. With her company, The Radiant, she directed the celebration of the underdogs “CirquePROM” and her new work in development “Eat Sweet Feet.”

In addition to performing and creating, Krin teaches and directs world-class circus performance that explores the intersection of character, comedy and acrobatics. She coached the Cyr wheel act for the 7 Fingers off-Broadway hit “Traces“ and was director or an artistic advisor for three award-winning acts: including Avital & Jochen (Silver Medal) Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, Teo Spencer (Best Over-All) and Jacki & Nicolo (Most Original), Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival. Krin graduated from Smith College and trained at San Francisco’s Circus Center and Clown Conservatory. Her personal creation work is supported by Canada Council for the Arts, Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, TOHU – Cité des Arts du Cirque and Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal.
