Jen Von Essen

Jen Von Essen is a multidisciplinary artist who uses aerial dance, costuming, and various visual arts to weave captivating stories on stage and to coach others in doing the same. Beginning her aerial journey in Los Angeles, she has since trained around the globe, constantly seeking out new coaches and styles. Jen’s performances on sling, rope, and silks have ranged from being a corporate party disco ball to a three-headed aerial Cerberus.

While she relishes performing, Jen’s true passion lies in coaching. She delights in helping her students grow into their own art. The greatest joy is seeing a student walk out of class standing a little taller than when they walked in.

Jen is currently based in Austin, Texas but she travels extensively, choosing her passport over getting a puppy.
